Dremel - Page 2

I would just use a normal small circle saw (don't know the exact name for it in english) for the rough work and then finish it up with the dremel. I find I have to use waaay too many dremel blades to get something done...

Some steadiness and strength in your hands is required though.

EDIT: yea, it's definitely not a 'circle saw'. It's a small 'grinder'

A dremel will work fine for fan vents. Get some cutting disks and sanding pads and also get some sand paper. Cut out the vents( it will be roughly) then dremel sand to an almost straight line. (again wont be perfect) then finish by hand with sandpaper. I only use a jigsaw for big cuts on like side panels. A dremel fits where a jig saw wont. Also like others have said, for acrylic (plexiglass) use either a hand saw or if it is straight cuts use a glass cutting tool. The speed of a dremel will just melt the acrylic.

The dremel was a success. This is just a rough cut so I will be smoothing them out. My grills should be coming within next week.
