Noice cancelling software

Thread Starter
Hi there.
I'm trying to remove noise from my lecture recordings so I can hear them more clearly. I've tried quite a few today and haven't had an awful lot of success. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer if the software was free, but may consider software you have to pay for if I can't find anything else/it's highly recommended.
Thank you!

Adobe Audition has good basic noise reduction tool. if you dont want to buy one, you can search for a free dynamics processing plugin with Gate Compressor. but its not going to be easy.

edit: if you dont mind, i can clean those up for you for free. im an audio engineer.

croy, that would be amazing. I'll definately take up that offer. How would you like me to send the files over?

Edit: By the way, there's about 15 files, and in total they probably amount to a couple gb.

Would that still be kl?

lol a gigabyte of them? what recorder did you use? are they audio files? what format are they? .wav? if they are .wav you can use an audio converter i think they're free. convert them to mp3 with 192kbps, 44100Hz, 32bit settings for smaller file size.

All the recordings amount to 4.08gb, and there are 14 recordings. I used an ipod with a microphone plugged into the headphone jack lol. They are all .wav. I'll convert them now.
