Buyers Regret?

Thread Starter
I build my current system when the 2600k first released. So I have one of the first boards that came out. "P8P67 Deluxe" But I have really been loving the boards that have been releasing lately. Especially the EVGA Boards I have been seeing. What am I missing out on? I honestly HATE the blue layout of my board. It doesnt match anything I want to do with my system. I love darker color schemes, and reds. "like my case"

Suggestions?

Your not missing out on much to be honest, apart from SSD caching and onboard GPU capabilities. They all perform the same at the end of the day.

But if you insist on aesthetics winning you over, consider the EVGA SLI Z68's or even upto the Asus Maximus Extreme Z (rather expensive though).

Really there's not going to be a huge amount of difference between your board and any of the other P67/Z68 motherboards out there. Most of the nicer EVGA boards come with a few more PCI-E slots than other manufacturers.

If you were really interested in changing motherboards then go to EVGA B-stock and purchase their P67 FTW board.

http://www.evga.com/products/prodlist.asp?switch=20

Its a great deal for the features on that board and it'll feel more "enthusiast" class.

Hope that helped.

I can't realy say much as there is no window on my case, and I doubt there ever will be. What matters most is that when I hit the power button, it turns on. When it's powerd up it gets to my desk top as fast as possible. When I play a game, it runs and dosn't crash. Aside from that, looks of board and what is inside of case... really plays no part.

If you could find a way to protect pins and sockets, there could possibly be a way to change the color scheme to what matches your desires in the "looks" of a board. The key is to protect the contact pins....

I would check FrozenCPU.com for parts to protect connections when you "paint" your board.

Z68 was out when I bought mine - but I didn't need any of those features so I went with a P67. I think the Asus Maximum Gene-Z and Gigabyte GA-z68xx -UD4 looks stunning. Went with a Sabertooth because of reviews. It hsa been working superbly for me.

I outgrew the whole window on case thing. I have one on my Antec 902, but honestly, I don't even care anymore. My Desktop is on my desk to the left side of it, on the left most corner. I never even look into the inside of it anymore. Why should the look of a mobo really matter. Should focus on quality of your components and making sure your wiring is good.
