A few ssd newbie questions

Thread Starter
I just got a brand new Crucial m4 128 gb after careful consideration and a lot of reading on this forum. I'm pleased with performance though i'm only getting 490 mb/s Read speed and not the 520 that I see in other benches.

Now for the questions...

1. Do you All test in safemode to get benchmarks? If I do I get a little higher scores.

2. I read a few places about disabling speedstep in bios, is that recommended?

3. Does it matter if you set align to 1024 or 4096?

4. Can I expect more firmware updates for the m4?

What are the rest of your specs? Does your setup support SATA III?

In that case its probably the fact that everyone will not see the same results. But still is 490mb/s really something to complain about? =)

I ran Crystaldiskmark. My ssd is on the lastest firmware with the lastest chipset and RST drivers. Anyone know anything regarding my questions?
