Need a New Gaming Headset. $200CAD budget.

So the mic on my Razer Carcharias has died and im forced to rely on my built in webcam mic which is a little less than stellar.

I mainly play WoW and FPS Games and listen to music from time to time.

Im looking for something under $200 CAD
Preferably Wireless since im currently using a laptop and dont want too many wires.
It HAS to have a built in mic, no clip-ons.

I was originally looking at the two following headsets but decided to open up to suggestions from OCN.

You guys know your stuff and much more than what I do when it comes to PC Gaming Audio.

I was going to recommend the Logitech G35 but then saw that you wanted wireless.

And your first link to the G930s is what I was going to recommend Pretty nice wireless headset. My buddy has one so I have gotten to use it quite a bit. Although I am a headphone/desk mic guy, it is a good buy for sure!

Your ears might get a little warm though. So be prepared!

I've heard many a bad things regarding the logitech G930's. But that is just internet talk so I don't know.

Anyway, I don't really have anything to add, but I'm currently in the exact same predicament. So I'm going to hitch a ride with you and check out suggestions too.

No. Just no. The G930/G35's are among the worst gaming headsets you can buy. I had both of them and my Koss Portapro's (they cost $30) with onboard sound absolutely annihilated them in terms of sound stage and music quality. They have a hell of a lot more bass as well. With my Titanium HD they made the G930's obsolete.

If you absolutely must have a headset, the Sennheiser PC360 is a very good option. Otherwise I would buy headphones and a seperate microphone.

The Steelseries Siberia V2's are also a good option, but the best headset would still have to be the PC350/360's.

I'll keep them in mind if I decide to go with a wired headset. Do you have any recommendations for a wireless headset?

Not to mention, both PC350 and PC360 are above the $200 CAD budget.

You could go with the wireless Turtle Beach headset here:

They sound like $40-50 headphones using onboard sound, but that's what you get when you buy a headset instead of headphones. If you want wireless, these sound better than G930's, but they are still absolute garbage. I wouldn't pay $50 for them (well maybe I would if I could resell them, but not to use them).

Keep in mind, im a PC Gamer, not an audiophile. Im not looking for "OMG IS THIS REAL LIFE!?" audio from a headset.

Im looking for something that is comfortable, reliable, has good build quality, a crystal clear mic and gives similar or slightly better audio than the Razer Carcharias.

Also, that turtle beach headset is above the 200CAD budget. Things are more expensive here in Canada than they are in the states.

Check out the coolermaster storm sirius, one of the few headsets i havent heard terrible things about. It isnt wireless, but they sound quality should be quite a bit better than your current razer.

This is, of course, if we cant convince you to do a headphone + clip on mic setup, which would net you significantly more quality for less.
