Several problems, and I need some answers/suggestions.

First of all I got crossfire HIS Ice Q turbo radeon 6970s, and my motherboard is a Gigabyte Z68 UD4-B3, and I5 2500k (stock atm).

According to both gigabyte and AMD, I shouldn't need a crossfire bridge on this board, but it simply doesn't work without one. Or is there something I'm missing here?

Also Stress tests with Kombuster, and also in gaming my main GPU core clock will dip sometimes when it seems like it shouldn't be. If its being stressed to the max why should core clock be dipping? I have noticed very odd dips in FPS in gaming that I think is due to core clock dipping? This is with stock setting, and no overclock. It only recently started doing this for some odd reason. Also its only the core clock for the main card that dips, the other one stays consistent.

Also overclock. I have used similar settings to other people to overclock the exact same card, except I wasn't able to get the same results, any time I modify anything it actually leads to less performance and instability, trust me I have crashed my PC a dozen times already and haven't successfully been able to find a stable overclock, and I really need some help here to OC these cards that involves no more trial and error, because I've already done all the trial and got nothing but errors. And its simply not worth crashing my PC any more, so I need some help with overclocking please.

Pardon my frustration, but I spend a lot of money on this PC, and I am not the slightest bit satisfied with this build, and everything is falling flat for me so far.

The core clock dips when the card exceeds its power req. and is forced to downclock, I would reset the card(s) to stock settings and/or increase vcore

Stock Vcore is 1174MV, I am too scared to mess around with it in fear of tearing my PC up. Although I might try something like 1180MV. Are there any down sides for giving it too much voltage?
