[Slashgear] Asus Transformer Prime sets massive benchmark pre-release - Page 2

Maybe it has a higher resolution?

If its 1680x1050(sticking with the 16:10 for Honeycomb) its 1,764,000 pixels vs 1,024,000 pixels for 1280x800.

I just can't see the GPU which is said to be 5x faster being so slow... Just remember these numbers could fake, even though they are pretty damn good.

Honestly all I'd want out of a pad CPU is the ability to run a real OS and do bluray quality movies while still maintaining the 3watt TDP. Hell, I'd even be OK if it went up to 6.

This is going to be my first tablet.
Those ego compassion about the GPU performance, note that the test is capped at 60fps. That means that this test is maxed out for 3D because of this, so you see a Nexus S on par with the Galaxy S2 obviously they're not in the real world .

Also if you don't like the resolution, you can always output to 1080p using the hdmi =)

Guys don't be fooled. If you want a TAB stick to iPad for now. I got a Transformer and it pretty useless. Lack of Apps and not very mature OS. On top of that if you ever plan to resell it Android Tab have huge price deprecation. For example you get a iPad 2 for $500 and after 8 months of use you can get $450 back easily. I got a Transformer + Dock for $550. Cant even get $400 back.

Depending on how the web browser performs, we might get it

Any ideas how this tablet does in full web browsing compared to our c60 HD6290 11.6 netbook?

This will be perfect for my handicap mom since it's a touchscreen with an awesome keyboard dock for when she lies down

Most of the increases come from the CPU apparently. Hmmm

The OS is fine compared to the iOS. The only real issue I've had in comparison is the responsive of the touchscreen, an issue that was basically eliminated after rooting and flashing a custom ROM. As for $550 for a transformer + dock, I'm assuming the extra $50 was from taxes, at any rate there are deals for a free dock so that's why you lost value. Because of special promotions for the launch of the ASUS slider, not because of the quality of the item.

I'll give you the lack of apps though. I'd trade my current Transformer an iPad simply for garageband so I can have a little more fun when I'm bored out of my mind.
