System shuting down mostly when gaming

Thread Starter
System shutting down. Blank screen no signal to the monitor. Have to turn off the power to the PSU.

Current system:

ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo Intel P45 Socket 775

Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz

8GB total --- Patriot Dual Channel Viper 4096MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz Memory (2 x 2048MB)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=3655524

OCZ / GameXStream / 1010-Watt / ATX / 120mm Fan / SATA-Ready / SLI-Ready / Active PFC / Power Supply
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=3010720

EVGA GTX 285 FTW 2GB

Zalman VF3000N VGA Cooler with dual 92mm

A little backround:
About a year ago my motherboard died. (ASUS P5N-T Deluxe Motherboard - NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI, Socket 775) No posting, no error bips, nothing, just blank screen. I still had the similar problems. So tried a difefrent model ASUS. Even though it is crossfire Mobo used SLI hack and was able to run 2 of GTX 285 2GB's on SLI (Currently running a single with Zalman VF3000N Video Card Cooler).
Also upgraded the CPUfrom E8400 to Q9650
I thought it was because GPU was over heating so I got Zalman VF3000N Video Card Cooler it reduced the GPU temp but still the same problem.

I did mem test that takes forever to finish. Everything passed. no problems found
Today I did Furmark test. Everthing looks fine with GPU
I tried IntelBurnTestV2 no problems there either.

I think there are 2 possibilities my memory is not in Asus' QVL list or problem with PSU.
Again I remind you my old Modo died mysteriously last year. PSU?

I would say PSU, yes. Try replacing this and continue testing.

I've had the same issue here and there when playing Rage and BF3. I always thought it was the drivers, because it never happened while playing Crysis 2. Sometimes Rage will BSOD, which is kind of weird. After a restart, everything seems to work find. Checked temps, they were all within reason (63 CPU, 78 GPU) So idk, I hope you get it figured out though. Makes me pretty mad when I'm all involved in a game, and then .....FAIL! If I wanted stability, I guess I should have bought an off the shelf PC instead, LOL

Could be PSU, RAM, Video Card etc..., start testing things one by one.
