new i5 or i7 build - onboard or sound card?

Guys, I'm geting ready to throw together a new gaming rig. I do listen to music a lot as well on headphones. Does it make sense to install a 3rd party sound card these days. In my last build I used a Creative Xtreme Gamer.

Nope, unless you're in to audio processing and editing, there is no reason to get a third party card. The majority of motherboards come with decent onboard audio.

An Audio Card wont do you much in the listening to music category Just make sure your motherboard has a good audio onboard.
