M5A88-V EVO good memory

Thread Starter
Hi Awl: What is good memory for this motherboard for mild overclocking?
I want 8 gig. I presume 1600 would be better speed
I have tried reading the QVL from Asus and it is about as clear as mud. It looks like to me a bulldozer cpu can use different memory from a Phenom II
I was considering the GSkill Ripjaw FS-12800clad-8g-brl
from neweeg for $47
IS there anything better for about this price range?
What memory are other users, using?
Thank you very much.

hi I'm using this mobo and its default memory settings is 1333 but you can max out to 1600 or more with additional voltage but depends on memory clock capacity also.

I did not post specs because this is a new build. sorry. I have not got a cpu yet as I am waiting on Christmas. I was going for the HD 5770 graphics card eventually. The memory is what I wish to know about for now.
Thank you.

How much are you going to pay for the 5770? 6850's can be had for 140, you should get one of those.

For memory, just get some 4 gigs of 1600MHz CL9, 1.5v preferably...
