TMPIN02 is your NB temp. temp seems about right for the UD3 board at that voltage and clock.

Hi.

UD3 running 955 Phenom II and G-Skill 7-7-7-21 2x4g ram.

Running Fedora 16 / 64 - NOT OC'ed... 3 X 120 1100rpm Fans with a Scythe Ninja rev B. Also got a Gigabyte 9600GT 1 gig passive.

I'm getting some SHOCKING NB temps.... like 88c

It's the hottest NB of any board I have owned.

What can I do about it? There has got to be some way of cooling that down passively.

Will the UD3 take a standard NB HSF? I've got a Nocuta I'm considering using but I'm not sure if will fit.

Has anyone modded out the current UD3 HSF with something a bit more efficient?

google the waser trick. Also what BIOS are you using? you can always try the simple method of turning the PC off and pushing down on the NB heatsink with both thumbs for a little bit. A member in the Giga club in my sig got some temp drop.

50's are fine for temp, but 80c is getting up there.

WASER Trick or WASHER Trick?

I've updated to the F5 Bios today.

Just redid the Thermal Grease and replaced it with Arctic Silver 5 ... and also got a fan on it too. Now temps are down to 68 - 72c but that isn't under load, only 1 of 4 cores running at 3.2Ghz, other cores running at 800Mhz.

I'm thinking of swapping out the current HSF for an aftermarket one.

EDIT:

I'm also posting in this thread.
