MSI 990FXA GD80 V2. The NB runs in the 37-58C range. 58C is under stress testing on a warm afternoon.

32-34*C at any occation. I have massive airflow in my case so temps are not a problem at all. Compromises on noise, but then again I'm partially deaf so...

First post here.

I just finished an FX-6300/Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 rev.4 build a few days ago. Thought I'd post this:

Completely stock timings, no OC. I'm not seeing any of the overtemp/high temp. issues or bios issues that have been mentioned regarding this mb. I think they've addressed them with the rev. 4 boards.

FYI; there is no NB temp display in that picture...

Today i buy AsRock 990fx extreme6 MB. The temperature NB on idle 68c, on load 72c. It's scery temperature for my (CPU temp on load only 38c, M/B 32, GPU 36). And this temperature on standard mode (not overcloced).

My case have 3 coolers and cooler controller (rpm and temp) - cooler controler show 70c, and laser thermometer 72c.

It is normal?

Sounds high, but vrm can easily withstand up to 125c no problem. If you experience throttling however, you might wanna look into adding some active vrm cooling.

ASUS Crosshair V non Z.

NB temps vary mid 30's to high 40's centigrade. When watercooled, it maxed at mid 40's . Now on air.

Im not sure if this is the right thread but i have heat issues with my northbridge on my MSI 990FXA Gaming Motherboard. I dont think the problem is the board though because i had the same issues with my old Motherboard. In Idle the NB cooler feels like 50 degrees celsius or more. When gaming it gets even hotter and my pc freezes after some time. Cpu and Gpu temps are good. Any ideas? Thx in advance for your help.

I have the same boards myself and yes all of them used to get up to that temperature range. I believe it may be due more to design than an actual problem with the board. The heat-sink on the Extreme 6 has a very low profile,; most likely so it doesn't interfere with any MASSIVE cpu cooler a hobbyist/builder might install. The design seems aesthetically appealing with its cooling channels and blue anodized look, but does lack in the area of total fin surface. I took one of my boards a few months back and did some experimenting with custom northbridge heat-sinks. My final design has been running for over a month and has a cooling fan built into it. I did not use paste on this design, but did go with a higher quality thermal pad from Arctic.

Believe it or not, I now get idle temps of just below 39c and under load it has never surpassed 43c. This, of course has allowed me to dabble deeper into fsb overclocking.
