i dont think its a good idea to run windows7 on a notebook cuz widnows7 would make it run slow because it takes up a lot of memory.

the asus transformer is a notebook and tablet
If the transformer looks good to you, I would wait a few months... The transformer prime should be out by the end of the year... It is the second generation and is supose to be sleeker, and much faster and have much better graphics... No to mention it may run on windows 8 (though much more likely is icecream sandwich)... If you cant wait, the transformer and slider are both great... I would also ask in the tablet sub-forum if that is the way you decide to go (witch it looks like t is to me)... I have also heard both good and bad stories about the galaxy tab (heard it was discontinued somewhere, but I can't find that again)... You may want to check it out just for fun... I think the best option would be to go to a Microsoft store or a best buy and just try out a lot of their tablets... I think that's how u will find what you want the easiest

EDIT: and you would be surprised at how powerful small computers are getting... Just look at the tablet form factor ASUS eee slate and the 7 slate... They are crazy powerful I also recently saw a 2nd generation i5 netbook with a 12 in screen and like 4gbs of ram (think it was around $600)
