Onboard Audio Dead?

Thread Starter
hi guys . I just replaced my CrapTop with the one in my Sig. But when I try to get sound through the on-board audio chip set (RealTek ALC889) I can only get audio through one of the back panel ports, and it's really weak like it's plugged in through the Mic port on a laptop. Should I RMA the board to newegg (and pay shipping), or just buy a sound card and take a risk on a defective board? I do manage to get audio through the HDMI port on my brother's TV, so it looks like it's just isolated to the rear panel.

If you just got all the parts I'd replace it through newegg and contact customer service to get the shipping waived
