Should I RMA my GTX 560ti?

Hey guys,

So tonight I encountered an issue with my graphics card. (Gigabyte GTX 560ti). My monitor would lose signal after the computer booted past the Windows screen.

Does just fine in safe mode. Tried uninstalling the drivers, worked fine with web browsing. Reinstalled the latest drivers after using Driver Sweeper and the problem persists. I try again with the Battlefield 3 Beta drivers (didn't have any issues with them when I used them) and it booted all the way into windows but whenever I go to play a game or do something that really utilizes the card, it loses the signal again.

Temperatures are around where they've always been, tried a clean install of Windows 7, same problem. Tomorrow morning I'm going to ensure the card or the power cables didn't get loose at all but otherwise I'm at a loss.

It's within warranty so I'm not too worried (Though with Skyrim and Saints Row 3 coming out soon the card picked a terrible time to go belly up) but does it sound like I should RMA?

Yea, if you have a different card, give that a try and see what happens that way you can rule out a bad slot on your mobo.

Beyond that, it sounds like a bad card. My card recently developed a nice case of screen tearing. Sent in a youtube video to evga customer support showing my issue and they were kind enough to set up an RMA for me. We shall see if the issue is fixed when the card returns.

I have not, I'll try that tomorrow as well. Although I think my second PCI-e slot only runs at 4x.

Luckily I also have a 9800GTX+ handy I can use to troubleshoot.

Thats exactly what my GTX460 was doing after I installed the latest drivers, and now its nearly dead. Still goes blank after Windows 7 Bootup, but I can log into Safemode. Look back at my topics at OCN. It seems to be a inherent problem with these 400 / 500 series cards. Only way out is to swap it.

Sorry bud, I couldn't be of any more help because according to all at nVidia forums who suffered the same faith, looks like its RMA time

Look here; http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=187401 and all the best man.

A shame.

I suppose it all started a few weeks back then. I installed the latest drivers, had artifacts in Rage and some other games. Took a few reinstalls to get everything working and now this :/.

It's not a big deal but still a pain in the behind.

+1 for checking the power cables. When you turn it on, do all 6 green LEDs on the card light up?

I can relate , I know what you mean man. Just RMA the card and hope that the new one doesn't do the same crap.
