For programs? Do you want a regedit or similar?

When installing the program just do a custom install and change the directory.

To change the registry, follow these steps:

1. Start Registry Editor by entering “Regedit” in the search All programs.

2. Locate the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\ CurrentVersion

3. Right click on the value named ProgramFilesDir & change the default value C:\\Program Files to the path you want to install all your programs in.

4. Click OK and Exit.

Windows, by default, will now install your programs in the new drive or path.

Found that online. Perhaps that is what you are looking for.

Been doing that, but a couple of them didn't give me the option.

Maybe try the second to last post here. Seemed to work for a few people having trouble with windows 7 x64.

"The 64bit version has two versions of regedit. Make this change as well:

1.) Enter into Start>Run: %systemroot%\\syswow64\
egedit
2.) Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\ SOFTWARE \\ Microsoft \\ Windows \\ CurrentVersion
3.) Change the Path in DWORDs ProgramFilesDir, ProgramFilesDir (x86) to the new path, probably just changing the drive letter."

I think the path depends on the installer and not always on Windows. I personally always manually choose the path to be on the safe side.
