Are my temps wrong?

Thread Starter
Hello, okay i installed a 1075t, and in the Bios my CPU reads about 46c in HWmonitor it reads about 23c on idle, i ran a cpu intensive program and it got up to about 60c with all cores

i have a corsair h70 hydro cooling set up, is there something wrong here? do i need to update my bios? my 955BE didnt run nearly this hot in HWmonitor. im using some regular thermal compound, does this sound right or is my CPU heating up to quickly?

Ignore idle temps, and watch your "Core Temp" under load. Your BIOS is reading the "Socket/CPU Temp" and is typically 7-10C higher than actual temp. See my guide for more information.

Pretty hot, not too hot.. but getting there.

H50/H70 severely overrated. What's your clock and voltage though?

that is very close to the thermal limit of the chip. 62c MAX! Is it OC'ed? stock cooler?

Yes, that's too hot. The max temp is 62C "Core Temp" and not 60C for extended periods.

Something is very wrong there.

ignore my last post. You have one of 3 things going on here. 1. To much Vcore 2. bad H70 install 3. to much/not enough TIM.

Use Coretemp or Realtemp instead of HWMonitor. They seem to be more accurate. Also, watch the Distance to TJMax rather than actual core temperature. As long as this value is 20C+, your CPU should be safe.

EDIT: actually, I'm not sure Distance to TJMax applies to AMD chips. Any input on this?

I would never use the TJMax for my AMD rigs.... its always off in my experience.

thats what i was thinking. i think i need to use different paste. the h70 seems to be pumping the cool air through, i just thought when i updated my WEI and it stressed the processer i saw it get up to about 61c under load. under load my 955BE only hit about 45

everything is stock, i literally just threw it in about 10 minutes ago. its 1.4250v
