Htpc

Looking to build a HTPC using a Micro ITX Mobo, no heatsink's seeing how I'm going to submerge it in Mineral Oil, but I'm also looking for a low powered GFX Card to play 1080p without question biggrin.gif, is this possible?

micro atx, or mini itx?

also mineral oil isnt very practical, it can degrade the plastic and rubber on wires and leak through wires. Id recommend getting a low powered 1155 cpu that you can just run with a passive heatsink. any 1155 cpu will playback 1080p easily with the built in gpu

it's more of a project, nothing serious, I wanta build with a micro ITX just because I can, price isn't an issue and I have a tank picked out that would be just right...

well then I would do what I said

pick up a 1155 cpu and mobo, which will easily play 1080p on the IGP, and be cool enough to be run without a fan, which will die in oil anyway.

slap a heatsink on and drop it in

I happen to have a mini itx motherboard for sale if you are interested, ecs h67h2-i

Not quite, the Pentium series of SB cannot play back 1080p content and struggles at 720p.

I would recommend at a low profile HD5450, it was in my HTPC for a good 6 months and had absolutely no issues playing back 1080p mkv at all. I had to get this when I found out my Pentium SB could not natively play back HD content (its hidden on intel's webpage). The benefit there as well is it only has a heat sink, so you wouldn't have to worry about removing the fan.

I'm looking to get a low powered Nvidia card, a GT 430 or a GT 520 to have the video playback.
