Dual CrossFire 6450 vs 6870 ?

Thread Starter
Any thoughts on whether or not the 6450 CrossFire performs better then 6870 by itself?
I don't think 6450s can be crossfired...

even if they could a 6870 is more powerful or about equal to 2 5770s crossfired so 6870 would be way better than 2 6450s in crossfire (if it were possible).

6450 crossfire = very poor choice of cards, absolute waste of money on anything below 5770. Wont be anywhere near a 6870 imo frown.gif

alright sorry, i meant to type the 6750 LOL idunno why I pressed 4.. ): keypad ftw.

The 6450 has 160 Stream Processing Units, so crossfire would make that 320. The 6870 has 1120 SPU's, 3.5x more than 6450 crossfire. The 6870 is going to blow it out of the water.

Edit: The 6750 has 720 SPU's so crossfire would put it at 1440. It could perform better than the 6870 in games that support crossfire assuming 100% scaling. It'd be better to go with the 6870 and crossfire later.

Crossfire will work with only one monitor, and no, it'll definitely not be a waste. A waste would be something like Quad-SLI GTX 580 3GB cards on one 1080p monitor tongue.gif.
