gameme or hlxcommunity would make players happy they can track how they did, and others can just opt out of stats tracking if they choose.

HLXcommunity is free if you want to go for it, and you have a good infrastructure for it. Just need a webserver with MYSQL db and some time to configure all your servers.

No i dont.. i honestly don't play valve much.. are stats only applies to css? What kind of stats do they keep track of? i never messed w/ any MYSQL stuff before, don't even know how they work lol..

Dust2, Office, no AWP servers are a dime a dozen, but as long as they have a good ping they attract people.

Stats keep track of shots fired (accuracy) , kills, deaths, and everything in between including every time a player switches their name.

Are you renting all those servers or is it a dedicated server?

Do you have a separate webserver?

Your setup for those things will determine how you should approach this. Gameme isn't cheap, and running your own stats has a learning curve, but once you've set it up a few times it isn't much to maintain.

I see.. those are dedicated servers.. i have a file hosting website that i signed up for free, and i use it to host my custom server files so ppl can download a lot faster from the site than from my machine..

So those are rented servers then?

Do you run a website for those servers? A forum or anything?

i'll wait until 1 or 2 servers gets populated then i'll have to shutdown the rest due to a weak machine..

i don't have a webserver or forums for these servers smile.gif all private lol

You can run a website privately too, and I would advise against promising 6 servers when you can only support 2. You would be able to build a user base if you have to shut off servers when things get rough.

Or as the old saying goes "don't bite off more than you can chew"

As for a website, you could purchase a hostname and create an easy forum with a mysql backend. The free stats uses php and mysql, it's not hard setup and easy once it's done. It pretty much takes care of it self when it's done.

Keep them populated....

My clan (MIAClan) runs over a dozen BF/CoD servers.... if no one is in them, a few of us hop in and play until we get it going. Then we leaving and start up a new one. For BF2142/BC2/BF3, it takes 6-8 of us to start and it usually fills up within 30-60 mins.
Once again...

Duckie HO knows his stuff

Pubbers won't join an empty server....

If you want to know more about the stats and running your own basic website, PM me, and we can discuss it more. I've set up hl stats on my own a few times, it can be challenging for someone who hasn't worked with mysql or setting up websites, but once you've done it, it's like riding a bike.

Easiest way to get attention for anything would be to integrate "gamergirl" in the server name. biggrin.gif

But in seriousness, while I never played CS, you have two options--target a small group that loves playing the same map over and over with the same features--like a 24/7 party server, or to rotate maps that people enjoy playing but don't often rotate in other servers.

Not sure about perks/unlocks/etc.--depends on what you want to do with your server.
