Adding another 240mm rad to rasa rs240 kit? Pump ok?

post #1 of 8

I can get a 240 rad for 20 bucks. I have a 500R case. But my question is can the pump handle it?

I know I can stick a 120mm rad but can't get one for cheap

Good question, you should try it, you only stand to lose $20

I've seen alot of people ask questions like this it generally comes down to;

- depends on the rads/blocks
- it will but not at the desired flow rate

It would sure be interesting to find out, I was considering 2x 240 setup with a RX240 kit in the near future

Good luck!

Thanks. The guy said the fittings on it are 5/8ths, so I'm guessing 5/8ths and 1/2 fittings not much of a diff?

I gotta figure ou where to stick the radiator because the room is limited. I could stack them lol.

Stacking them wouldn't be very good for temps, blowing hot air onto your rad to cool your hot water, not the most effective method of cooling.

I'd put one in the top (easy) and depending on how those hard drive cages work, pull them out and put one in the front. If they can then just be put back a little further back from the front thats ideal, if not I'd just leave them out and make my own HDD rack

I looked at the front, I can remove the cages but not enough room to stick the 240mm in there. . Wish I could get a 120mm radiator for cheap.

In what way won't it fit though? Maybe *remove* the pieces that are in the way?

Lol

The 5.25 bays are in the way. I would have to cut a slot in the bottom of the last 5.25 bay to fit it into the front. Unless I mount it out side of the case.

I'd cut them Who needs more than one optical drive bay anyway. Three if you have the RES and pump in them.

There is always the back of the case to mount it on, like hanging from brackets.
