GTX 570 Stutter/performance Problem

Thread Starter
I have been getting very bad stuttering and bad PhysX performance in many games since I got my 570, however it all seems to be fixed by reinstalling graphics drivers every time I boot, is there some way to find the offending process or service that is conflicting with something... so I don't need to use this crude fix?

Maybe try wiping the nvidia drivers and then reinstalling the latest driver using clean install. Have you tried that?
If drivers arent wiped properly, some old files can interfere with new drivers.

Correct,

Download + install driver sweeper.

Uninstall drivers.

Reboot in safe mode and run driver sweeper, clean all Nvidia based files.

Reboot, install latest Nvidia drivers.

?????

Profit

Which game are you trying to play at what settings, resolutions etc.

Also don't mean to hate or insult you but the Phenom II X4 @ 3.6Ghz will bottleneck some games a little bit on a 570.

If you're running ASUS Gamer OSD try removing that.

It was causing the same problem for me a while ago.

Once uninstalled you may need to install the graphics drivers one more time.

okay, thanks for the suggestions, I'll try getting rid of the OSD. games include GTA IV, Saints row 2, mirrors edge which all seem to work fine every time i reinstall the driver. i usually run them at 1920x1080 but i have tried them on the lowest settings to no avail in terms of stuttering... how much would you say my 955 is bottlenecking by? i think i still have a bit of OC head room.. but i probably won't be able to afford a new cpu any time soon.. frown.gif

just to clarify, i am able to fix all the problems by reinstalling graphics drivers without a reboot, after reboot the problems emerge again...

GTA IV can be problematic for stuttering, regardless of the hardware. I still get stuttering with it occasionally, even with my 2500K clocked up to 5.0GHz and two 480's. Some drivers work a bit better with it though, I find the latest Quadro/Tesla drivers (285.58) to have less stuttering with GTA IV.

I don't know about those other games you mentioned, It's only GTA IV that has had any stuttering issues for me.
