GTX 580 safe voltage with watercooling.

You all know that the GTX 580 love watercooling. my max temp are right now 47C. Now i know there's bios mod to upper the voltage up to 1.21v. What is the safe voltage above 1.150V.

1.21v is safe for that card. I run 1.21v 24/7 and haven't seen any problems whatsoever.

You might be able to get 1GHz with 1.21v too, so go for it. Although getting those clocks in SLI will be harder.

I ran 1000mhz with 1.2V. Temps stay in the mid 50's.
If I run at stock, temps stay in the 40's. I love water cooling.

1.2V is safe..

Please note there's no real reason in physics whereby lower temperatures can afford you higher voltages with lower risk of component damage. I'm not saying 1.2V isn't safe because I have no idea myself!
What I'm saying is that the voltage limit with watercooling is equal to the voltage limit with air cooling. Capacitors for example, have a certain maximum voltage after which the dielectric no longer insulates between the two metal plates and electrons are forced through regardless. The effect of Quantum Tunnelling also comes in, in that the closer you are to this maximum voltage, even if you don't hit it, the higher the probability that some electrons will indeed tunnel through anyway.

I think merely because of the fact that it keeps the GPU cooler wheras 1.2V through and air cooled GPU would push it to 100c+ in most cases.
Also, the VRM's stay cooler.

Perhaps the max voltage is, say, 1.25v. **JUST AN EXAMPLE**

Heat could limit you long before voltage, especially on stock cooling.
