Hopefully your friend learns to do a little reasearch and reading before attempting any flashing in the future. I have exactly the same situation with my PSP... It turns on, does nothing, hangs, turns off.

Well, it is a software issue. That's for sure. And software issues can ALWAYS be fixed, one way or another... So, it IS possible, somehow... tongue.gif

Thanls for the info, I have no clue what you're walking about though, haha. It's a European 40GB fat model. Formatting doesn't work, if I do that, the system would have to access the FW, and it will shut itself off... FW is always installed on the console, not the HDD. That's why they're so hard to alter...
