[Vortez] Leaked: Pictures Of MSI Big Bang XPower II X79 - Page 6

So when these boards inevitably explode does that chain-gun fire up and spit chunks of Dr.Mos out of the I/O?

The gun barrel looking heatsinks are also pretty horrible.

You guys are being a bit too critical. I understand the whole "no blue" thing. MSI always has a really nice blue theme. But the whole "ew bullets" thing is a bit ridiculous. How many of you guys ACTUALLY dislike it, and aren't just hoping on the bandwagon?

It doesn't look that bad to be honest. Far better than Gigabyte's cheesy magazine and handgun heatsinks. It almost looks good. Almost.

I think the whole gun thing is beyond stupid for PC components. I wouldn't buy them based on that.

I own a Carbon 15, AR15, S&W Thunder Ranch, and about a dozen Kimber 1911's. I like guns and computers, just not together.

I think its the same thing on lots of 1155 boards as well. Mine the evo has a heat sink there, UD5 does. I son't believe there is a chip there on them either. I think its just because people are used to seeing a heatsink there and it makes the board look more low end with nothing there.

Brown PCB + Black slots + bullet heatsink + location of onboard on/reset buttons = fail

I'd love to see the person(s) who designed this board.
