And i agree, tho i wouldn't buy an MSI mobo, the old Big Bang looked better.

Cheap? You mean the revised version the Gigafail boards should have been.

To be equally critical

Asus R4E = Humvee tire tread / tank belt heatsinks -> tacky military theme

Asrock Extreme9 = cheesy car vents/scoops

Gigabyte Sniper = Glock 9 heatsink

MSI Big Bang = bullet clip and mini gun heatsink

This leaves ECS for the ninja win.

The black and metal is nice but the bullets make it gaudy and undesirable.

The motherboard PCB color is the same as the Asus Rampage 3 Extreme on my monitor.

Your monitor is a bit messed up, then!

It's definitely brown.

EDIT: Hmmm... you're right though. The RIIIE has a bit of a brown tint as well. I guess it's no big issue considering I owned one and never noticed it.

This is coffee brown on my monitor:

msi-mobo-790gx-g65.jpg

This is not matte black, but it is still the "normal" black on many motherboards today.

I think you are too used to super matte black like the Rampage 3 Black Edition.

I like the black, but absolutely hate the ammo heatsink design.

I'm seeing a black PCB with the copper traces showing pretty clearly (big bang). For the rampage III BE for example I think the board has some extra paint on top of it so the traces can't be so easily seen and appear darker.
