Overclock Help

I don't really know how to overclock, but I have looked at AMD Overdrive. My system is a few years old so i'm not expecting it to go up that much. I really only need to oc it for a few hours only, so can you tell me how much I would be able to oc it by and how?

You may be able to get about 3ghz by lowering the core to bus ratio to 8x and setting your FSB to about 375 MHz but you will also have to lower your ram ratio by one step. this is all don't in the bios

Hi

Read the OverClocking guides HERE these will explain what you need to do. (look at "intel overclocking" & "core2 & quad")

This should get you started.

I have 3.6Ghz on my q6600/P5kc board but I have good cooling and a few extra heatsinks/fans etc, but we can deal with that later.

for now have a go at the guides, if you get stuck come back and ask.
