bf3 pushes 4gb pretty far. i'd go with 8gb to be futureproof.

Get 16Gb and forget your troubles you will not regret.
yeah, for almost all gaming 4gb is enough right now...but with RAM being so cheap, why not get the 4gb more for 8gb total?

i did and am glad, now i dont have to worry about all the crap i leave running in the background eating up memory space while i game.

4gb, imo, is the minimum for a new gaming rig now. I'd suggest 8gb. It's cheap a/w.

I'd regret buying something and by the time my next build comes around I still haven't used even half of it.

4GB's been good to me so far BUT i don't have many things running on my box. But to be honest the price for ram is silly cheap now (i paid £130 for my 4GB Corsairs *cries into hands). If i was doing this build now i would go for the 8 GIGZ to be honest..... And would still save money!!.

8GB may limit your OC though mind so 'tis up to you.

Thanx.

4 gigs is enough for gaming but like others have said RAM prices being what they are there's no reason not to spend the extra $15 and throw in at least 8GB. Gone are the days of making sure the system is able to allocate every last resource available to run the game at optimal settings. If I decide I want to play a game I can just launch it, play it perfectly, and then continue normal work and usage without having to restart processes that aren't necessary while gaming.

Modern hardware has made it so that I can be lazier about memory management. A few years ago I would have been disgusted at the thought of having 82 processes running on an idle desktop. Now I don't care.
