What's with the no-scope COD "skill" on youtube? - Page 5

Answer to OP: Because they are kids.

Random break-down of games:

You want semi-realistic? ARMA2
You want arcade-realistic? Project Reality mod for BF2.
You want arcade-realistic w/ small maps? Red Orchestra 2
You want arcade? Battlefield 3
You want meat-grinder? Call of Duty

It's a trick shot. It's fun to some extent.

Games are not made to be super realistic. Games are for fun. Every game will have something. I like pulling off high speed roadkills in BF3. No sane person would do that in real life either. I simply do it in a game because, a bit like no-scoping/quick-scoping, it takes a lot of practice, and is a ton of fun.

I play COD, and Im 19, and I think its sweet.

Its just a lucky thing that happened. Ive down random throwing knifes, random shots through a wall for a triple kill, etc. Point is - its interesting to a degree, but it gets old rather fast.

A lot of the videos on youtube are from "trickshotting kids", wehere they set everything up. These are lame.

However, if you are playing and get a quad quickscoping feed, that is pretty neat.

Its not really skillful. If you label any FPS as skill, esp COD, its the skill of twitch reflex and lucky spawn and lucky luck luckier luck.

BF3 is more about skill, because of recoil and no cover, you stay prone all day., but that aint realistic by a long shot. Its boring IMO. This is why im getting MW3. Fast paced action. All day. Like an FPS should. BF3 is just sit in a vehicle and camp all day, or be recon, or use your IRNV scope all day for easy 5:1 ratio. Lame.

I don't know how scoping works in COD since I don't play it but I remember in CS scoping in wasted valuable time that could be used to be killing more people.
Also, smaller FOV using scope = disadvantage.

Is it realistic? probably not, but imagine if a sniper was only armed with a sniper rifle and an enemy walks into you while you're hiding, are you going to put it to your eye and take time to aim, or just point the barrel? (or neither and go chuck norris on him/her).

Well I know that there is a lot of COD hate on this site, but I can at least accept that getting really good at no-scoping does require quite a bit of skill and practice; COD was never trying to be like BF3. I actually think it is more like some of the older FPS, because it is all about speed and fast reflexes.
