clockspeed fluctation in prime 95

Thread Starter
Well, I'm still fighting for clock here. Up until now, I haven't been able to achieve a good OC number, not even at 4.3mhz.

I found out that I have to up the RAM voltage from 1.5 to 1.56-1.56 just to boot when I mess around. Normal or bad ram?

Another thing: What does it mean when you clock speed does not keep stable?
I mean, it's during torture test, so it should be locked at max right?

If you look at the picture, f-stream and cpu-z show different speeds. They both kinda fluctuate a bit. wth?

I did up a bit: cpu-nb voltage, nb voltage...

Thanks for any info.
Hey, at least now I got it to boot. Maybe one day I'll get there

Start with the obvious: Cool'n'Quiet and Turbo disabled in BIOS?

I'll check again, but I believe so. Thanks.
I'll try adjusting LL and raising core voltage a bit... se what happens.

Sorry to thread hijack but Im getting sort of the same problems.
At all settings auto I dont have a problem but once I start overclocking the cores drop down to 2.8ghz.

Overclock under 3.8ghz only 4 cores drop down and they alternate.
Over that and 7 cores drop down to the 2.8ghz.

Every power save feature is turned off.
Also in AMD overdrive its set so it always uses 100% cpu instead of dropping power.

Board is
990FXA-UD3 F5 bios.
PSU 650W sliverstone (due to replace in next few weeks)
Fresh install of windows.
Antec 620 water cooler (max temp after 30mins 52C on socket,45C on cores)

Running stock voltage since it doesnt error in prime but that maybe because the clocks are dropping. Raising voltage doesnt change anything.
