I'd prefer a faster dual core over a quad. Theres really only so much multitasking you can do on a phone with a ~4 inch screen.

Dual-cores are pretty much just arriving and we're already getting quad-cores? Phones are advancing way too fast.

This is where you are very wrong. Some examples of games optimized for dual core phones are: Order and chaos online, modern combat 3, and infinity blade 2.

Which is awesome idea..
Yes, the 4 cores for gaming, the low voltage core for doing basic tasks such as calling or texting probably.

I won't be too excited for it yet. Nvidia has been building a lot of hypes about their quad-core Tegra 3 (which actually has a low power 5th core). Let's see if it can actually offer any improvement in battery life.

I don't play hard-core video games on phone. Today's dual-core phone is powerful enough for me, at the moment. I'd rather see significant improvement in battery life. And as mentioned above, quad-core is really unnecessary on phone as you only have so much room for multitasking. I can see how it makes sense on a tablet, but I would rather see more power efficient dual core SoC for phones, and perhaps faster performance per clock (like the improvement made from going to Pentium 4 to Core 2 Duo).

Oh, and the reason why I don't play hard core 3D games on phone? Other than very limited control and small screen size? Battery life. Play 3D games in the morning, and you won't have a phone to use in the afternoon.

The only thing i can see the needs for more speed is for Flash based Content. That being said if they do release Quad Core optimized software then its a good thing. Thats the point of having Quad core when you will have to wait 1 year for software to catch up. Nobody should buy a Phone based on specs alone.
