Buying and using BF3 Russian Key??

Thread Starter
I'm not trying to cheat the system or anything, I just want to get BF3 without having to pay and arm and a leg (*sarcastic tone* as crazy as that sounds...)

I see a lot of people selling a Russian BF3 Origin Key. Now, could I still buy this to use, and will it work 100% in the US (english)? After changing the language of course... Normally I would be very skeptical about this, but considering that many of these sellers have 100% feedback, I wouldn't see that they would be willing to trash their rating just for one item.

Could I purchase a Russian Origin BF3 key, download and play it like normal?

Thanks!

In short, yes you can. A friend of mine bought the Russian key and he plays it just fine.

Although you need to make a few modifications in order for the Russian key to work in US/CA.

If you follow this guide on Youtube it will help: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3pvni7hk7g[/ame]

Without making these modifications your game won't launch properly.

Hope this helps.

There is surprisingly little information on this. But from one thread I found, the BF3 keys may be region locked (not just language). Because EA decided to use this absolutely horrendous method of match-making, I am only concerned because it requires a constant internet connection, so Origin may detect (or check my account for Country) that I am obviously not in Russia. If they keys are region locked... then we have a problem.

$33 doesn't sound like a bad price, BF3 RU code is region free, you just need to change the registry for your language, pretty simple stuff yessir.gif
SKYRIM is also pretty cheap on that site, but you need to use a proxy to activate the RU version on steam... but then selecting language is easy as pressing a button..

Bought a Russian key for half the price of a normal one. Changed the language in about 5 min, works like a charm. The biggest issue I had was solved by simply changing campaign voiceovers in the options menu tongue.gif So yes, I recommend buying a russian BF3 key if you don't mind having "Russian Standard Edition" shown to your friends when you're playing xD

I'm running a Russian version of Battlefield with no issues at all (other than having to change the language of course). So if you have any questions ask away biggrin.gif

Yeah, I got a Russian Battlefield 3 Limited Edition key and it works perfectly. I even got all the extras including the Back To Karkand DLC.

You just gotta change the language after installing but that's easy enough. Once you've done that, the game will work in English (or whatever language you want). As mentioned the RU keys are region free so they'll activate anywhere. smile.gif
