Where are you paying £160? Newegg has them for ~$175=£108

I meant to suggest an 1100t since it's only $20 more.
But anyways since you bring it up, there's no bottlenecking with a 6870 and a 1090t. As a matter of fact I highly doubt a 6870 would be bottlenecked with a 955 especially since he's running @3.8GHz.

I would advise to wait for 7xxx. A single 6870 is slower than a 5870.

Yeah but ATI/AMD changed the naming scheme so they won't the dame performance range, plus the 5870 is far to expensive

well update you system profile then. It says 550 so my assumption would be it is a 550 at stock not a unlocked overclocked. Since its quad at 3.8 id just wait for the 7000 series to hit and snag something then when all the price drops hit. I use a 4890 and i just beat BF3 at 1920x1080 high/ultra settings 1080p. So your 4870 should hold strong til the 7000 series hits.

No, he doesn't have any proof. Although it might affect your synthetic benchmarks it won't have a negative impact on your gaming- which is what matters. There's several benchmarks that have a 6870+955 combo running smooth in real world/gaming instances.

Well, I guess the good thing is that if you pay a higher price to start your resale price should be higher as well.

Wait for the 7xxx series. You can always cave in around Christmas if they haven't launched by that point.

Wait for 7xxx series. Btw whoever said : 170$ = 108 L, well you can't convert money like that.

If it costs 170$ in US on Newegg, it will be around 160-180 L over there. Same thing with euro zone. People win 80K euros or 80K $, the price of stuff is the same or close.

Truth be told, if I don't get this its either going to be a C4 ssd, or an.obsidian 650D case.

So, 6870 or ssd or new case
