HAHAHA...COD is in the same boat as madden and fifa. Really in the end they are all scams. I wonder where the principle has gone? Why buy the same damn thing every year? is it peer pressure or what?

1. FIFA actually makes a lot more fundamental gameplay changes than CoD every few years.
2. The "soccer game" genre is pretty sparse, so there's not much to "monopolize".
3. People piss and moan because the FPS genre is huge and it can argued that a lot of innovation is held back when the best selling (by far) franchise hasn't changed anything significant in 4 years.

I couldn't care less about either title to be honest. These days a FPS has to have a nanosuit, augments, alien/next gen weapons or a fun stealth ability to pique my attention.

Both options at this point seem horrible.
MW3 is essentially a map & model pack for $60, while BF3 is wrapped in spyware.

I agree to certain extent. While I really love BF3 I miss some of the gameplay perks Crytek gives you with the nanosuit in Crysis 1&2. Playing BF3 after Crysis 2 feels somewhat generic (until you climb into a helicopter that is)....

I have not played Crysis 2 much but i would have liked it to be more like Crysis 1 in MP which was more like BF and not like COD which Crysis 2 is.

180 000 000

I'm pretty good at simple arithmetic, but that is insane. 3x(540 000 00) this if all the pre-orders cash in. That's more than half a billion dollars. The already cashed in pre-orders probably just provide the return on the development costs.

What is the highest grossing movie?

*looks it up*

really, Avatar?

760,505,847 -.-

Beats out the number three Dark Knight

$533,316,061

d:

I am amazed that a(!) video game compares to third on the list. Wow

^ This was all that needed to be said.

Although that does hint at the fact that the overwhelming majority of console players are mindless sheep (obviously not you guys here at OCN).

So mindless infact, they didn't even bother to research the game they were going to buy in a few days. There's literally HOARDS of them rambling "wait a minute, I've played this before!" it's like they had their heads stuck in a chunk of ice inside a cave located in the south pole and were pre-programmed to automatically buy any game that started with the words "Call of Duty -".
It makes no sense whatsoever.
