EVGA Warranty

Quick question about EVGA warranty.

Someone locally is selling this card for $260

He says it's 3 months old from Fry's electronics. I am very interested in buying it, and newegg says it has a lifetime warranty.

How is EVGA warranty? Is it serial based, or does the card need to be registered within 30 days of purchase?

What about receipt? Would I need this to RMA it to EVGA?

I assume if it's registered in their name, I would need them to assist with a RMA if necessary? Or do I just need his info?

card has to be registerd in 30days and cant be transferd if its not registerd i think its a 1 year warranty.

They've always asked for proof of purchase whenever I've dealt with them in the past.. dunno how involved the original owner would have to be beyond that.

That's what I was thinking. But if the card needed to be registered (which I think it has to be), I'm not sure if I would need the owners info from when he registered it.

-AR is a limited 10 year warranty.

If he has registered it have him upload the invoice to the evga site. That way you have proof of purchase. Then, either have him give you his evga account details or have him assist you if you need to rma.

Just got an email back from him, he does have a reciept and he did register the card. It is also a KR model number, so it has a 3 year warranty since its registered (he said it has a 1 year warranty on it, so not sure about that).

Would it be possible to change the info on the EVGA account? I would like to take the whole RMA process in my own hands and do it myself without the help from the original owner.

Would I be able to change the address/email, etc? I don't assume I would be able to change the name though...

EVGA warranty service has gone downhill. They are slow and I cant even get this guy to get back to me in regards to get my crappy EVGA cards repaired / exchanged. So from now I try to stay away from EVGA cards unless I absolutely have to.

Anyway, EVGA KR is 3 years solid. So as long as you are in the US and got the receipt you should be fine.
