Double fan push/pull for H60, any benefit?

Thread Starter
Recently bought two low RPM spectres for my new build for the top of my case so I have two plain fans left with no use or place to put them, instead of having a standard push/pull on a H60 would having two fans either side (basically a double push/pull with four fans total) have any advantageous benefit? In my head it seems like it would increase airflow, almost like a wind tunnel through the
radiator but I just don't quite know.

Thankyou!

Nope, it won't do anything.

This would increase static pressure to some degree. So, yes. Helpful through a dense medium such as a rad.

How does "iCrap" username pass through the admin filters of trolling/flaming. Fail.

Just to confirm what I mean, I whipped up a quick gimp edit:
8j3s

So it'd do absolutely nothing? What about 6 fans:
8j3Z

Thanks again.

Here's an idea. Use 2 fans, but on the first intake fan, have a fan shroud. It will work a little better.

Look at the first image. Take away two of those fans. Now add one fan shroud to the first intake fan, closest to the rad, so that the fan is mounted on the case and not the rad.

Fan > Shroud > Rad > Fan

You dig?

How would I mount the fan to the fan shroud? The screws you get are only long enough to fit a normal fan.

There's this magical place called Home Depot.....

Bring the old screws with you so you can match diameter and thread width.

For all the space a hexfan setup would take, could you fit a larger rad (H100) instead?
Tried it on my 620 (needed size 6 screws) made no difference just a bit more noise which im guessing is because the fans werent all matched speeds.

If all fans were matched it might make a little difference but the 620, H50, H60 are performance limited by there pump speeds and 2 decent fans in push pull will keep the radiator cool to the touch.

the shroud will dramatically decrease the noise, but you would want one on both sides of the rad. having only one would mean there is still a dead zone behind the fan motor. you could cut the fan out of the housing and use the housing, or, if you want, i have some that i could sell you (i have the feser ones and some fan housings with the fans cut out)

oh yeah, and shrouds make the temps a lot better. but i was most impressed by how much less noise there was (because the air had time to become more smooth before going through the rad; choppy air is the reason for the noise)

on the other hand, it would be interesting to see what having two fans working together would do. they would have to be the same speed, as two fans with different speeds would be counterproductive due to how choppy the air would be, but two fans with the same speed would be interesting. you should try it and do a full comparison (as long as the fans are the same speed)
