720p Build Possible with ECS G43T-M mobo and Core 2 Duo E7600 3.06GHZ processor?

I'm a noob thats trying to build a 720p LAN rig focused for the upcoming MMORPG called Star Wars the Old Republic but I will likely play Battlefield 3 as well. I would like to be able to play on high settings on 720p which is what it's display output, the Epson 705Hd projector, supports.

Price-wise, I would like to spend less than $550 but the total amount really depends on whether or not the CPU/Mobo need to be replaced. The more I save on the Mobo/CPU/RAM/GPU, the more I can spend on X-Mas shopping for others redface.gif And the more I can spend on other parts like a LAN case, headset, cooling, and a suitable PSU.

Would these two components 'bottleneck' and be unable to support cards that would be capable of playing on high 720p settings:

ECS G43T-M mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135099R

Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 Wolfdale 3.06GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115059

The above are also hooked up to 4 gigs of RAM (not sure what type or how to find this yet) and a GeForce 9400GT

When it comes to assembling the system, I'll have help from a close friend that used to build comps for a living. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Feel free to recommend upgrades! smile.gif

That GPU and mobo should be fine, but you might have problems playing BF3. TOR should run great though, as long as you pair it with a good GPU.

Thanks for the quick reply! Is there a particular GPU or RAM that you would recommend?

If the CPU is fine for SWTOR, what would you recommend to run BF3? However I will be mostly playing SWTOR and older games like Starcraft 2 and Team Fortress 2 so I may just stick with the current CPU and spend the money on other X-Mas stuff instead of gearing up the rig for BF3

Thanks again for giving a noob some help! smile.gif

I don't know enough about BF3 to answer that, and it of course depends on what "acceptable performance" mean to you. People on this site play with GTX470s, but they probably don't get great performance on high or ultra, and the definitely have better processors.

Look up some BF3 benchmarks to give you an idea.
