Have to agree with Ghost on this one two. That being said I love BF to death, while MW has yet to impress me. Maby MW3 wull change that, but so far I dought it.

MW3 will be quite fun to you if it is your first time playing a CoD game. The reason most of us don't like it is because the game hasn't changed at all since 2007 when CoD4 was released.

MW3 is a very fast paced shooter, even more fast paced than CS. There is no teamwork required at all. Games can end in as little as 5 minutes but most are usually 7-8 minutes long. There are no controllable vehicles unless you include killstreaks. Lobbies range from 12 to 18 people.

BF3 is much slower paced, but it is a tactical shooter. Teamwork is recommended and sometimes required. There are plenty of vehicles to use and most vehicles have a turret/gunner of some sort, and a pilot/driver. Graphics are MUCH better that the MW series. Guns actually have recoil, unlike in the CoD series. The community is much more mature than in CoD. Games take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to finish depending on the game mode, but you do not lose your experience if you leave the game, unlike in CoD. Games range from 16 to 64 players.

Personally like game play of COD4 the best out of all BF and COD games. But servers and hackers on COD became to much to deal with and BF3 is now the better of the two you listed. Many people wish to see something like COD4 with better graphics but this was a forgotten dream for most now a days.

First off, neither game is realistic. If you have ever been in the military, or around actual combat, ITS NOTHING LIKE A VIDEO GAME.

as far as the GAMES themselves go, MW3 is a little more fast paced, smaller maps, crazy customization. Think of it almost like team fortress, but not as zany. (I love TF2, not flaming it).

The biggest issue with MW3 is repetitive after a bit.

BF3 give you more options imo. IE you can fly a jet and provide air cover for an entire match, go around in a tank, heal people costantly, etc.

BF3, you actually have to plan your actions and squad up with people to get the most out of it. MW3 you can just run and gun with dual uzi's or whatever and still be effective.

For a newbie MW3 will be alot of fun and alot easier. You'll run around trying to rack up killstreaks.

If you havent played any of the Battlefield series, you'll find it hard to start with because its alot harder to get kills, and much easier to be killed. You have to work as a team and cant just run and gun.

That said, once you get into BF3 and good at it, i think you'll find it more rewarding
post #17 of 55
lol. If you think a game is a proper representation of the military or combat, you have a screw loose! its a game. But I feel BF is more realistic than MW.

Last time i played BO it has far less options then BF3 in terms of customization.

To OP:

BF3 for you sir. You will not have many PC gamer playing and those that will will be hacker. BF is more about positioning similar to CS, COD is run and gun so skill bullets 10 mins max you cant play much more. If you plan to play 1-2 hour then BF. You can also play TDM which is also fun with just guns.

I always break it down like this:
- If you want a run and gun shooter that is perfect to jump in/out of games then COD:MW games are great.
- If you want a squad based shooter with emphasis on team work to hold/take objectives, and a bit less "forgiving" damage model (people say realisim, but I say it's just less forgiving" then BF3 is your game.

Both are fine.
