MW3 vs BF3, what the difference for a newbie? - Page 3

mw3 - arcade shooter, very twitchy. not very balanced either, a lot of 12yr old "MLG pro's", too. cod4 was good, now it's just garbage.

bf3 - slower pace, feels more like a simulation. larger maps, better graphics/destruction, vehicles. just a more team-oriented objective game unlike the slayer that is mw3.

but in the end you'd be best off trying both and seeing which one sticks. trust me they're very much different and i doubt you'll enjoy both. it's either 1 or the other.

I'm not a huge fan of FPS games but I do/will LOVE both, try for yourself.

To sum it up:

MW3- Run and gun, very fast paced.

BF3- More realistic, people camp a LOT.

as long as you can run it

BF3 for PC
MW3 for xbox

best way to go

The Modern Warfare series is like shooting fish in a barrel. You spawn, throw a grenade, die, respawn, throw a grenade, die, respawn...some rounds go like that endlessly. But it's quick fun sometimes.

BF3 is like shooting fish in a lake. First you have to know where they're hiding, then you have to go to take the fight to them. Plus vehicles...

honestly, I think MW3 would probably take more skill, because like CSS, its a twitch fast paced shooter requiring accuracy and decision making skills.

BF3 is slower paced team based strategy shooter. it really resembles a real battlefield. sometimes i would just stop and admire my surroundings and really feel like im in a war zone. bullets wizzing past me and soldiers yelling, theres not much like it.

i will be getting MW3 later on after all the quirks has been worked out. But im a dedicated battlfield fan so thats the game i will be playing for a while.

BF3 > MW3

BF3

64 player multiplayer on huge maps
jets, heli, jeeps, tanks you can fully drive and shoot from
blow up anything possible, making rubble fall on you

MW3

Think of MW2 take away most of the graphics if the game is staying that way for PC atleast
a few new guns

I am going to be hated on for this post, but here goes...

For me, Call of Duty has something Battlefield doesn't. I honestly don't quite know what it is, but my friends and I think its the smoothness of the controls. Call of Duty also just seems to get you into the action faster. I LOVE tactical shooters, and I fly some aircraft simulators on the PC (DCS A-10C and Blackshark). Those are as close you can get to the real thing. Call of Duty and Battlefield are wayyyyyyy off in terms of realism. I honestly dont know why people try to argue which is more realistic... You regenerate health in both after being shot weather a medic is nearby or not, and in both games you can survive insane amounts of bullets. No matter what you do in either game, hit detection is going to be awful if you have lag. If anything, I bet MW3 has less bugs in it. I still get that annoying green screen flash in BF3.

What does battlefield do better than Call of Duty?
-Vehicles
-Bullet Drop
-Building Destruction
-Newer Engine/better graphics (unless on consoles)

What does Call of Duty do better than Battlefield:
-Faster Action
-Better controls
-MUCH better customization

You can argue that Battlefield is more team oriented, which in some parts it is, but have you ever played a game with an entire team of friends in Call of Duty? I have had win streaks that last for days. There is absolutely no reason to hate on either game, they both are extremely successful. If anything, yell at Dice and IW and make them make a game together.
