fan leds not working after connected to controller

I recently got a fan controller, but when I connect the fans the leds don't work, only the fan. They are usually connected to a hub with an led switch. The fan controller male connectors only have 2 pins (yellow and black wire) while all the fans female connectors have 3 pins.. One fan that I bought separately, the led works. Only the original fans that came with my case don't light up with the controller. Do I have to rewire the red one to one of the others? Can I buy a 2 female, 1 male 3 pin splitter? What do I do??!

Have you tried maxing out your fan's speeds through the fan controller?

e.g. if I use my fan controller in my NZXT Vulcan to increase fan speeds, my LEDs get brighter (allowing more current). If I decrease my fan speeds, my LEDs get a bit dimmer.

The controller's resistor may be reducing the current to the point where the LEDs won't light up.

Yea I tried maxing them. Maybe the fans were specially wired to work with the led switch.
