What I meant was, would Upgrading (rather than Clean Installing) from 7 Starter to any other version make the netbook slow? I ask this since I once upgraded from Vista Home Premium to 7 Ultimate and it got really slow, then I decided to clean install 7 Ultimate install and it was much faster.

Clean install is always better than upgrading OS.

Why dont you research the difference between the windows 7 versions... Then youll find your answer. They all demand the same amount of resources from your comp hardware. Just figure out which version is best for you. We wont know that.

A clean install's always better. Win 7 seems pretty good at not slowing down but, as it takes no / little extra effort, it's better to format and then install. Makes sure there aren't any old drivers etc hanging around.

All win7 OS take up same resource. Ultimate just offers more updates but nothing important or needed to run Win7. Just extra goodies I guess. I find most of them useless and waste of MB.
