X79 Mobo?

Thread Starter
Hey all, I'm just wondering if anyone had the chance to play with an X79 board yet? I know it's not released yet, but I just wanna know if anyone played with one at all, even if it was a sample. Anything at all, I'd appreciate it~!

They'll all be out in a week, relax.

So far, the best X79 motherboard is the ASRock Extreme9

I dunno the MSI Big Bang Xpower II looks pretty beefy. It's even got bullets on it so you know its fast.

Here are links to pics of MSI's whole X79 lineup.

Anyway. We'll know next week when they release SB-E. We have to wait for the benchmarks to come out.

Don't you know bullets on motherboards and LED's on anything make PCs go faster?

Where;s the proof that it's better than the Rampage 4?? I'm curious cause RoG boards are pricey but always top tier.

I believe the key words are "so far". I don't know if any info has been released about the Rampage 4.

lol better is hard to say, and the extreme 9 isn't the top of asrock's list, they have an extreme11 as well. There is a hard limit on the amount of features you can have on at a time and not bottleneck the system busses wink.gif

Anyways I have the UD7 and Assassin 2 now, nice boards. Some idiots want me to the review the Asrock X79 extreme 4 and 11, i told them after launch, no way im spending time on asrock before launch. Also R4E too, but that not for a week or two.

Im curious too. Right now I have a Rampage III Formula X58 and I love it. But I also owned a Gigabyte UD5 and it was awesome too....

I have no idea which X79 mobo im gonna get. Hopefully these high end boards have some good NIC's on them. I know thats not most people's concern, but I just dont want to pay ~$400 for a mobo and get a super cheap-o NIC.
