Mouse Pad Question & Suggestions

I'm using a Razer Mamba Wireless Laser Mouse.

My generic cloth pad is done.

Can I just use my wooden desk top, do I really need a mouse pad?

It's actually easier to move / glide the mouse along the desktop over the mouse pad. I've tried it out and tracking has been fine. I find it no different than my lousy old pad I had.

Is there any cons to not using a mouse pad?

Don't want to hurt my mouse in some way I'm not thinking about.

What is the best type of surface mouse pad i should be looking for?

Metallic, cloth or plastic best.

Any suggestions on good (high-end) mouse pads? Looking for a great gaming mouse pad that glides easy and covers large area.

Something that compliments my high end gaming rig. I'm all over the place during FPS battles.

Is the Razer Vespula a good mouse pad?

Out of the Razer line of mouse pads which would you suggest?

I used to swear by cloth pads, but lately I've just been using my wooden desk. Tracks fine if you keep it clean.

Well I've made my decision and purchased the Razer Vespula. biggrin.gif I'm finding this pad perfect as it's flexible with options in three ways from one pad.

1. Control Side.
2. Speed Side.
3. Can be used with or without wrist pad.

Either with or without wrist pad it's got great traction to the surface of my desk.

I like it personally without wirst pad as the pad for me is more of an obstacle then helping my wrist. The hard mouse pad is working great. I also like the very low profile on my desk.

It truly compliemtns and completes my expierience using my mouse. It does work better than my beat up old mouse pad I've had for years. I'd reccomend this mouse pad to anyone looking for one. It works great with the laser mice. I've even tried this gaming campaigns and more hectic multiplayer games. thumb.gif
