Help with increasing Video quality with Toxic 6950 please! 6950

Ok, So I have a toxic 6950 that I just got a few days ago. I am more than thrilled with the gaming performance of my card. I have unloked it, clocked it to 940 core, 1475(5900) memory with 1.250 volts and the +20% mod. Performance in game is just wicked! But I find the movie watching experience to outright suck. I watch a LOT of blu-rays and the quality is nothing compared to my old 460 GTX(or any of my other nvidia cards).

I know it must be user error of some kind, what can I do to make my video watching experiance better with this card? I am a hard core gaming and know nothing about optimizing my video setting's in CCC.

The problems: fideo looks grainy an dull. colors are off. The brighter colors are too bright, the darker colors are to dark. Shadows's also look off, on blue rays the shadows do not look like 1080p. its hard explain but the shadows look even more more grainy than the rest of the video. Thank you for your help in advance!

You may do the rendering purely on the CPU to see how it goes. Any video player must have the option to "accelerate HD video", I suspect the player you're using upon installation optimized its rendering for the card it used then. Reinstalling the video player may do the trick. Otherwise there's always the alternative to disable HD video acceleration as your CPU is certainly fast enough - I find there's very little need for HD acceleration on a decent desktop.

Brilliant! I will work on this ASAP. I know I may have came of as bashing ATI/AMD's GPU quality but I am a total noob at video settings for watching movies. I will uninstall Media Player Classic and reinstall it ASAP! I might also try to see if my CPU can do a better job. Thank you for this post Drgosmp! +rep!
