Asus Maximus Extreme IV Z EZ_PLUG_1

Hi all,

On this board i have one EZ_PLUG_1 Power Connector, description :

Power Connectors (24-pin EATXPWR, 8-pin EATX12V, 4-pin EZ_PLUG)

What does this port stands for ?

Can i connect here my molex port from my Obsidian 650D chassis from Fan Controllers?
EZ_Plug_1 is a 4-pin molex power plug that supplies additional power to the PCIe lanes and the chipset.

you need to plug a molex connector directly from your power supply into that plug. DO NOT connect it to a fan controller output. that needs to be a regulated 12v/5v molex.

page 2-38 of your motherboard's manual has additional information.

Should i also connect EZ_Plug_2 directly to power supply with molex ?

Okay so in total 4 ATX power connectors.

I will connect directly to power supply:

EZ_Plug_1

EZ_Plug_2

EATX12V 8-pin which is above the CPU on the left upper side

and 24-pin EATXPWR which is also a must.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thank you.

that is correct from what I saw in the manual, I have never actually seen one of those boards in person though.

That plug only needs to be plugged in if your running sli or say a power hungry card like 590/6990. If you only have 1 mid range card, don't bother.

I will be using one single Point of View TGT GTX 590 UC 3072MB GDDR5, 3710/670MHz on the first upper PCIe slot.

So what do you think ?

I would go ahead and plug them in just because then you KNOW you have all the power you need and it will make your power that little bit more stable.
