Remove Saitek X52 rotary detents?

Thread Starter
I'd like to know if its possible to remove the center point detents from the two rotary knobs on the throttle in the same way you can for the throttle detents? I've been using the X52 with FSX for some time now, but I haven't been able to use the rotary knobs for trim because they pop into the center rather than smoothly rolling through their full range, causing the trim to suddenly jump a relatively large amount. The only way I've been able to get around this is to turn the sensitivity for that axis way down, which then leaves me without the full range of trim.

So anyway, if any of you have gotten that far into the mechanism for the throttle, I'd like to know if those detents are just rubber stoppers that can be removed, or if correcting this would take a lot of work.

Thanks

If it feels and sounds like a 'click' then no, its built into the rotary pot. Its possible to get a similar pot and replace it, usually Radio Shack is the best local place. Be forewarned, it requires voiding a warranty and soldering skills smile.gif
