Briefcase computer, NEED HELP

Thread Starter
So me and my friends like to have gaming parties at each other's house and the problem I have is moving my giant computer there and back.

Solution? Briefcase computer.

I'm just having a problem finding a briefcase to put it in. Many of the briefcases I find are only 4". If anyone knows of a larger and cheaper briefcase (<$50) please let me know. 6" or more would be great.

I plan on fitting all components plus my 19" monitor.

Honestly, you will not find a briefcase much bigger than 4 inches. Might I suggest a hard suitcase instead. You can expect to pay more than 50 bucks though.
Cheers!

Get a Lanbox case, attach monitor on the side, done.

If you want a breifcase to fit, make it yourself, it probably would be cheaper than mutilating a new breifcase and risk getting it wrong.

Theres whole threads on this and yes you can use a standard hard cover brief case the popular choice is the hailburton zero aluminium its 5.5" deep more than enough for an SFX psu itx mobo and discreet GFX.
There's a build log on OCN in progress inside one of these,: http://www.overclock.net/t/346789/completed-the-intelligence

If not Pelican make some realy rugged and decent sized cases

there site for haliburton sizes is here:
http://zerohalliburton.com/#

I'm in the uk and these are quite popular:

Or pelican:

Hope this helps.

I've spent the last two months looking for briefcases for the exact same purpose- my friend, there are too many 18x13x6 briefcases for cheap on eBay. Just type Aluminum Briefcase into eBay- you'll find them. I've tried Amazon- the only two decent ones I found (in terms of size, appearance, and reviews) aren't really very heavy duty. As for me- I wanted something that was smaller, but if you want a large case? It felt like every single case was 18x13x6. Whatever you do- do NOT go buy a Zero Halliburton, Pelican Case, or any other high-end case for full price- you're gonna tear the damn thing apart anyway. If you live near a few hardware stores, it can't hurt to look for toolboxes or cases in the damaged merchandise (or maybe even not damaged, you might get a decent price for a simple aluminum box). But don't get something high-end/expensive, and don't get some cheap "aluminum" case from Amazon that only has aluminum braces and can't support the heft of computer parts for any prolonged time.

eBay.com is the way to go. That's where I got my briefcase for to use in my mod. And you will not need to expect to pay over $50 (although a lot of the beautiful ones are $50+).
