PS needs GPU?

I'm thinking about selling my GPU, because I don't game that much and I can't justify owning such a nice card when I don't need it.

My Mobo has onboard video...can I still use PS with my onboard? Or will I need to replace my current GPU with a less expensive one? I'd rather just get rid of my GPU altogether.

Photoshop will work fine with onboard video. Apparently it can use video hardware acceleration for some tasks, but I have a feeling you'd know if you needed it.

Oh, and your motherboard doesn't actually have onboard video. It's on the CPU these days.

You can Definitely get away with just on board. Photoshop does not use GPU acceleration unless you buy 3rd party aftermarket plug ins.

Thanks! I just remembered I use to have PS on my i3 laptop with no dedicated GPU, so that makes sense. And really, my mobo doesn't have onboard? That's crazy, to think it has VGA knowing that the CPU will use it. I never thought of it like that. Mobos aren't what they use to be.
