Check a newbies math

Hi,
first post, here it goes.......going to attempt my first cpu oc and would appreciate someone going over my theoretical "goal" which I have calculated. Please excuse my improper use of terminology, as it seems inconsistent throughout the internet.

I have the following specs

-Xilence 400watt PSU (Had to give my nice cougar 450 to my brother, who has the more powerful system)
- Athlon II X3 455 (3.3ghz) with stock cooler
-Asus M5A87 mobo
-4Gb kingston Hyper X 1333 Pc3 10600
-Sapphire HD6670 (oc to GPU 870MHz | memory 1140MHz)

So as I only have a stock cooler I would just like to attempt a little bit of an oc, if the temperature allows, to about 3.5ghz (possibly 3.6ghz)

My calculations:

1)Cpu freq: ~3500mhz/ 16.5 = ~215 --> up fsb-ref. clock from 200 to 215

2)DRAM freq:
a) 215 x (667/100) = 1434Mhz

--> reduce multiplier from 667 to 533

b) 215 x (533/100) = 1145MHz

Question1: lower DRAM *multiplier* from 667 to 533 (is it better to have a ~100mhz oc or have -188mhz 'underclock' ?)

3) Drop NB multiplier from 10 to 9

NB: 215 x 9 = 1935 mhz

4) What to do about the HT? do I have to adjust some setting on this aswell. It is mentioned that reducing the NB multiplier will also reduce the HT multiplier? Can I rely on this with the asus m5a87 mobo?

5) Do i Have to change the DRAM latencies, or can I just leave it?

I do know that I have to do the OC in a incremental step-wise fashion while monitoring CPUz and HWMonitor along with the stress testing between increments. I guess prime95 will do?

Thanks four your help and advice!

And a special thank you to ronnin426850 for his athlon OC guide

I would set Ram frequency to auto so it remains stock clocks regardless of frequency. to answer your question in theory 100mhz OC is better but in all likelihood your spend long enough trying to stabilize the ram at that that you'll snap the sticks in half before you see a performance boost. I would personally set CPU-NB to 10x and HTT to 9x. I don't remember what the stock athlon cooler is like but I know that the stock phenom II cooler works great with althons I have an x2 running at 3.7ghz and never breaks 38C even after 3hrs prime95.

Do not drop NB to 9x. Stay with 10x NB cos it can dramatically increase your performance in all applications. Just drop HT link to 9x and you are fine. Oh almost forgot check your max temp here... (http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/11...l#post15198072)

Cheers! Appreciate the help.

One more question. So I am suppose to keep the Vcore set (not auto).....my question is, where should I start. Seeing the range is from 0.85 to 1.4volts, where should I start/ first fix the Vcore at when I begin the OC process?
