Origin Experiments

Thread Starter
I don't have time right now as my work week is starting but once my days off hit I want to try.

Has anyone installed Origin on its own partition and record if it still scans your C: or if it scans just the partition. Second if you install it on a different partition and relabel your C: drive to B: does it still scan your drive.

I know sandboxie works, but looking for other ways as well as I am curious.

Feel free to try the above and let me know, or post your own ways around the "Scan"

What scan are you talking about?

I assume BeerPowered means to use Process Monitor to check what it's up to.

To answer the question, I haven't myself but I'm pretty sure a few of the screenshots that were floating around (of Origin's iffy practices) featured Origin installed on another partition while it scanned a completely separate one.
I know it scans ALL my partitions (or at least their root directories), so I'd say it'll just detect your OS partition and continue as normal.

So has anybody found out if it does indeed check out all of your files? Or does it simply do one sweep then thats that? I have bought BF3 but haven't played it since the launch due to paranoia.

Off Topic; Where do we talk about the forum changes? I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumb.gif
